AMAH Conversations LIVE: A Way of Making
Design, Memory, and Meaningful Exchange
20th April 2025
On March 20, 2025, we shifted into deeper reflection with the first edition of A Way of Making: AMAH Conversations LIVE — a new series built for thoughtful storytelling, peer-to-peer exchange, and collective imagining.
For our inaugural conversation, visionary designer and curator Adeju Thompson sat in dialogue with celebrated industrial designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello. Together, they shared generously about their creative processes, the politics of design, and how memory, community, and African agency remain central to their work. The evening closed with a warm, lively Q&A, filled with thoughtful questions and honest reflections.
Throughout the weekend, AMAH transformed in subtle, intentional ways. From the placement of chairs to the scent of incense and the shifts in sound and light, every detail was designed to create an environment, where people could feel seen, inspired, and connected.
As we reflect on this first conversation, we’re reminded: meaningful spaces don’t just happen. They are made, moment by moment, with care and presence.
This is just the beginning. As we move forward, expect slower rhythms, deeper conversations, and more spaces to gather, listen, and grow.
If you know the energy at AMAH, you know it’s different. And whatever comes next, we’re building it with intention.
