AMAH Conversations LIVE: Telling the Quiet Story

Stillness, Sound, and Story at AMAH Studio

27th April 2025

This past Sunday, we gathered again at AMAH Studio for the second edition of AMAH Conversations LIVETelling the Quiet Story — an evening shaped by reflection, stillness, and deep creative exchange.

Chuko and Arie Esiri (Eyimofe), Adeju Thompson (Lagos Space Programme), and Daniel Obasi took the floor for a layered conversation on crafting narratives that resist spectacle, center the personal, and create space for quiet power. Together, they shared about their processes, their politics, and the act of making an assertion of memory and African agency.

The space itself mirrored the energy of the night. Blue fabrics draped softly from the ceiling, casting a dreamlike glow throughout the room. The conversation downstairs unfolded against this backdrop, intimate, thoughtful, and warm. Afterward, guests made their way upstairs, where we had transformed the studio into a cozy screening room with rugs, cushions, and soft lighting. It felt like gathering in someone’s living room: relaxed, grounded, connected.

The screening of Eyimofe brought the evening to a beautiful close, affirming the possibilities of slow storytelling and intentional design. Throughout it all, the spirit of AMAH was unmistakable, every detail curated not just to host an event, but to create an experience where everyone could feel seen, inspired, and part of something lasting.

We’re still holding onto the energy of that night. Thank you for being part of this ongoing conversation.

We move slowly, but we move with purpose and this is only the beginning.
